How it works

How it works, in four phases

Phase 01

Send and assess

Nothing is decided yet, and nothing is charged.

  1. 01

    Send your records

One message: your diagnosis, what you have already tried, and whatever documents you have. No translation, no certification, no fee at this point.

  2. 02

    A doctor reads your file

We put it in front of a clinician before anyone quotes a price, then approach two or three international departments that treat your condition in volume. You get named surgeons and real waiting times, not a brochure.

Phase 02

Price and confirm

You see the hospital's number before money moves.

  1. 03

A written price before you commit

The hospital's international department issues an itemised range at its published foreign-patient rate. Our fee sits beside it, listed separately, so you can take the whole thing away and compare.

  2. 04

Visa letter and a confirmed date

Your deposit holds the slot and your file goes to the hospital. We issue the visa invitation letter — usually two to three working days — and confirm the date of your first appointment.

Phase 03

On the ground

Someone is with you from arrival to discharge.

  1. 05

You land, and someone is there

A coordinator meets you at arrivals and takes you to lodging near the hospital. The first day covers the SIM card, mobile payment, hospital registration and a printed schedule, in one sitting.

  2. 06

Someone in the room, every time

A coordinator interprets at every consultation, scan and procedure, handles the consent forms, and sends your family a short update each evening. Every question you ask is written down and handed to your surgeon.

Phase 04

Records and follow-up

You leave with a file your own doctor can use.

  1. 07

You leave with the whole record

A bilingual discharge summary, a written medication list, follow-up dates, and every scan on disc. Most patients move to quieter recovery lodging before the flight home.

  2. 08

Follow-up your own doctor can use

A final review confirms you are fit to fly and explains what to watch for. The coordinator stays reachable, and the written plan is built so your own doctor can take over without starting from zero.

Our honest position

What we will not do

Zero marked-up medical fees

You pay the hospital's own official international-department rate — the same number a self-paying local patient sees. Our fee is separate, flat and shown up front.

Independent editorial

Our hospital profiles and articles are written by our own editorial team. Hospitals cannot pay for placement, rankings, or a better write-up.

Nothing here is medical advice

We publish general information about access, cost and process. We do not diagnose, prescribe, or tell you which treatment to choose.

No outcome guarantees

Any service that promises a result is not being honest with you. We tell you the reference range, the risks, and what we cannot control.

Your data, your control

Records you send us are shared only with the hospitals you approve, and you can ask us to delete them at any time.

No commission from hospitals

We are paid by you, not by the hospital. No hospital pays us for a referral, a placement or a ranking, and our recommendation cannot be bought. If a hospital offered, we would decline it and end the relationship.

Frequently asked questions

What does MediTour Care actually do?

We coordinate the non-clinical side of treatment in China: hospital matching, appointments, transfers and accommodation, a bilingual coordinator, the visa letter, your records and contact after you fly home.

We are not a hospital and do not practise medicine: every diagnosis and treatment decision belongs to a licensed physician at the treating hospital.

Is it actually safe to have treatment in China?

At the top tier, yes. All 35 hospitals we work with are Grade 3A public hospitals with a named international department, and their department heads have often trained or practised at leading institutions in the US, Europe or Japan.

Outside that tier the variation is enormous, and it is not visible from the outside. Grade 3A is China's highest tier, and accreditation is a floor rather than a guarantee. We tell you which hospital and which named doctor we would approach, and why — and we encourage you to verify credentials and ask questions before you decide.

Do you add a markup to the hospital bill?

No. You pay the hospital's own official international-department rate, directly to the hospital — the same number a self-paying local patient sees.

We take no percentage, and money for medical care never passes through us; our income is the flat service fee alone.

How much does treatment in China cost?

Between roughly $5,500 and $35,000 for the categories we coordinate, all-in — surgery, implant or device, ward stay and routine medication. Knee replacement sits near $7,600–11,800, cardiac bypass $18,000–28,000, IVF about $5,500–9,000 per cycle.

Those are reference ranges at international-department rates, not quotations, and the cost guide breaks down what moves the number.

What do I send first?

Your diagnosis in one line, what has been tried, and whatever records you already have — a discharge summary, the imaging report, the last lab results. Nothing needs translating or certifying at this stage, and a photograph of a paper report is enough to start.

Send it through the consultation form and a coordinator replies within one business day.

Can I get a second opinion without travelling?

Yes. Your records and imaging go to a named specialist at the hospital, who reviews them before you commit to anything, and a video consultation follows if you want one. The coordinator interprets and sends you a written summary.

For some conditions this settles the question without a trip at all. Rates are on the service fees page.

Ready to start your health journey?

Send us your records and tell us what you are trying to solve. A coordinator replies within one business day with a proposed hospital, a named specialist, and a written cost range — before you pay anything.
